I already mentioned this idea in Section vs Page, and I am still needing taxonomies for sections. I do not understand the choice not to give section taxonomies as well as pages.
I would also need date, updated and draft attributes. My sections and pages share a lot of templates and having two different objects lead to a bit of code duplication.

I agree, taxonomies for sections would be nice.
I can imagine that they’d offer their defined terms’ values as default for descendant pages.
