Is there a way to ignore syntax highlighting in rss feeds?

I want to remove the sytax highlighting from the rss feed on my site as it clutters it up and makes it a whole lot harder to read.

https://dunkirk.sh/rss.xml

That’s the browser doing that

I mean yes but also if i want to share the feed with someone who uses a plain text feeder it gets annoying

Sure but that has nothing to be with Zola. We don’t do any highlighting outside of code blocks in page/sections.

Sorry I feel like I’m misunderstanding something here; on my RSS feed Zola renders out span tags for syntax highlighting right? All I was asking was whether there was an option to disable that. If there isn’t then I can look at adding that in a PR. Sorry for the poor phrasing of my question in the beginning.

Ah sorry i misunderstood as well. You can write your own RSS template but there’s no option to remove the code blocks or the highlighting. You would have to handle parsing HTML for that and we’re not going to render markdown twice
