# How to specify the slug of terms?

I’m using a language other than English in my blog, and I don’t like the automatically generated slug (I’d like the English phrase). e.g.

| term name | generated slug | preferred slug |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 群论 | qun-lun | group-theory |

I’ve tried the method mentioned in [this post](https://zola.discourse.group/t/can-we-add-extra-data-to-taxonomyterm/770) but it doesn’t work for slugs.
